A boycott is a very personal issue, and as you certainly know as well as I, generally not done as much out of choice as out a sense of moral obligation or responsibility.
Speaking only for myself, I find it a fairly simple matter to boycott Rowling merchandise (despite being a 35+ year PC gamer, film lover and voracious reader), as well as Facebook, Fox News(sic), Amazon and Chick-Fil-A.
AT&T and Nestle' are much more difficult, and Koch Industries is damn near impossible. Same for Walmart, considering my health and geography.
I even partially banned The Guardian (which I love and read every day) by taking my monthly donation down to the minimum ($2), until this letter became the result of their transphobic actions: https://www.buzzfeed.com/patrickstrudwick/guardian-staff-trans-rights-letter
Admittedly, while their response was less than tepid, The Guardian remains an excellent (and rare) source for accurate news 99% of the time. Boycotting is rarely pleasant or easy.
(And as I've said elsewhere, posting "The sky is blue" to be seen by the wrong person/people might also generate death threats.)
Thank you for your important comment.
