After “dec” or “deca” has meant “ten” for almost as long as man has been scribbling, suddenly instead of meaning “one-tenth”, “decimate” has come to mean, “almost entirely” (or something. Who knows?)

I guess there’s such a desire to use big words that there’s no longer a need to use them properly.

And speaking of “there’s”, I’d gladly pay to see or hear the contraction “they’re”. Now it seems only “there’s” is used in every instance. (Such as There’s plenty of good reasons to use proper grammar, but no one seems to care anymore.”)

And I really don’t want to see “politics are….” ever again.
