This brings up an old memory.

Some years back I had the privilege of hearing Biden as a speaker at one of the remaining outdoor Democratic stump rallies in the Deep South.

It was hard not to notice Joe repeatedly using phrases like "Believe me when I say", "It's true", and the worst of all, "Trust me!"

I started writing a note to leave behind about how little most southerners are reassured by such phrases, when one of Joe's "people" came over and started talking. He said he'd recently heard that same concern, and we talked a long while due to what felt like genuine interest on his part. And I have never noticed Joe using such expressions again. (Not to say he never has.)

Now imagine that situation, reversed.

First of all, NO ONE would say a word to Trump. Had they, we'd know from the "truth" posted both firing, and disgracing them and their entire family. And we might already be listening for the emergency vehicles being "swatted" to their home, having been doxxed by some now "proud for life" cultist.

WHich brings up my most comforting comparison.

Yes, Biden is old, but he has advisors concerned about protecting American democracy. Trump is old, but he may as well have ZERO advisors, to listen to even 5 minutes of his rambling lies.
