The part of the 2nd amendment seemingly most often ignored seems to be the reference to a "well regulated militia."
I always (and still do) considered this to mean that after gaining weapons training through military service, that specific individual should be allowed to keep the firearms thy had gained proficiency with after leaving the service.
In your experience, how is that phrase generally interpreted by the "shooting is FUN!" crowd? (If you have time and interest, of course.)
