"...another four years of terrorism against Black and Brown."
...and white liberal. And while I acknowledge that I (or anyone) may not appear liberal at first glance, if I am in public I am VERY MUCH identifying as liberal at second glance. (Presuming literacy, which may be a stretch for Grump supporters.)
If I am in public, without exception, I am wearing a shirt in support of BLM, the LBGTQ+ community, reproductive rights, PRESIDENT Obama, antifa or any number of other progressive causes (I'd say I have about 100 of them total) or anti-Frump. (My current avatar is the design of one of the BLM shirts I wear.) And I do this in RURAL, South Carolina, the reddest state on the eastern coast. And I’ve distributed perhaps two dozen BLM facemasks (and even some t-shirts) in the local (mostly Black) community.
I know it's not the same. But we are targeted, and we are committed, and we are brave. (Think we won't die just about as fast if they think we're antifa? Often the term is "race traitor", and possibly thousands of such committed Americans were lynched for that term since the Civil War.)
Because it’s what I have, it’s what I use.
Great piece. It gave me strength and hope. Thank you.
