Yes, you did make that clear, but I hoped to broaden the scope a bit.

After all, some of the white folks "present" were only present to smash windows and cause blame to be placed on BLM.

But they were still "white people present", the antithesis of what you describe, but only "below the iceberg’s surface", not necessarily at face value. And their deliberately disrupting presence did no more to invalidate the BLM rallies than 5 murderous cops invalidated the white supremacy movement.

I regret expressing it poorly. I hoped each reader would fill in the gaps I deliberately left, using their individual realizations based on my deliberately circular reasoning. As you pointed out, the subconscious aspect is often the largest component for much human motivation.

People tend to value an idea more if they think of it as their own.
