Perhaps the biggest "problem" with my autism was that it wasn't significant enough to be diagnosed by family, afraid it might actually be the family "curse" of schizophrenia, but entirely significant enough to make my life hell. (I thought I was suffering from mental illness until I was in my 50s, and spent much of my life struggling to subdue my least "socially appealing" characteristics with drugs. It sort of worked, but I don't recommend it.)
