I still write on Medium a little. Because the planet is dying and stuff and where I live hate seems to overwhelmingly predominate. (The day after the Rittenhouse verdict(sic) there was a 12-hour shoot fest to remind me of my place…right next door to us.) In that context it means much to have those such as yourself that I know can trust with my real identity. Almost no one reads what I write here, but I do it for me (thus the “unpaid” status.) In truth, I very likely only write for myself because I’m just a lazy fuck!

Admittedly, I was gone from Medium a long time after my brother’s sudden death. (I wrote about it, but in another context entirely.)

Hope your world gets happier, and you and yours stay safe and healthy. (I’ve managed to keep my parents (90 and 93) alive so far, and having less than zero support from the community has not helped. A cousin came by to brag about having had covid twice and not being vaccinated, all the while breathing on my parents. I hope your anti-covid success has come about at a lower price.)
