"Come on, Shiva, destroy the universe as quickly as You can!"

In the early 80s, shortly after Reagan was elected to criminalize poverty in America, I watched my one and only episode of Jerry Falwell's Old Time Gospel Hour.

His task that night was to convince viewers to support Reagan's new nuclear program, because nuclear war would trigger Amageddon, and cause Jesus to return. (And he said exactly that.)

I only wish this had been satire. I still have the booklet and cassette tapes offered. And from that time I was literally a card-carrying member of the "Moral Majority", and I was asked to send a minimum of $50 in weekly mailings that lasted for years. Which is it? Money or salvation? Can't have both....

(How many times have I heard a "christian" say something like, "Any day above ground is a good one!" WTF!? )
