Having read this story several times over the past decades, I always thought the story was about the elites not being handicapped. I still do.

After all, Harrison was murdered with a firearm wielded by those in power.

Isn’t that the point of the story? The “haves” actually enforcing the “have nots” for their own evil and/or greedy intentions? (As republicans do on a constant basis.)
