I look forward to the day (though I doubt I'll see it) when non-LGBTQ people can be as powerful fighting for LGBTQ rights as all races are now in supporting BLM.
I've reached the age where I have no concerns about wearing any of my LGBTQ rights t-shirts (even in my small SC town), but I confess even 10 years ago I'd have felt self-conscious, or felt I was presenting as something I am not. (Although what I should consider myself, no matter my attire, is a fighter for the rights of every human being. That should have always been enough, but I'm ashamed to say it wasn't.)
I don't know what this makes me, but I wish it made me braver. And I hope that day is soon for all the world. Rights matter far more than perceptions.
Another masterful piece. Thank you.
