I think it may be safe to say that people of all races, religions, etc. feel comforted by certain lies. (With the emphasis on "certain".)

What seems specific (and peculiar) to us white folk is so many of us believe lies specifically based on how hurtful they are toward those innocents they perceive to be "other".

(Definition of "other" - someone a hater can stand on to feel taller.)
