In reality, I wonder if many (or most) people have perhaps seen things that are beyond simple understanding.

Once during my childhood in central Florida about 1968 I noticed a distant light moving across a dark night sky, which I presumed to be a jet. Suddenly, the fast moving light took a sharp right-angle turn, then flew away so quickly as to be gone from sight in seconds.

Not to say it was alien, but unquestionably “unidentified” (and certainly not any known jet.)
