It's baffling to me how many people who are surely familiar with the term "marriage contract" have no issue with two men or two women signing a contract to share a rental or buy a home, but become hysterical when two members of the same gender engage in a contract to care for each other and share their lives.
Or are they presuming that a contract to buy a TV involves God, and indeed all legal contracts should have biblical implications?
