The more proper term Ms. Cohen might have used would have not been "put", but rather "FORCE prayer...in schools".
The only prayer ever removed from schools was exclusionary, public prayer, which the Bible isn't necessarily particularly fond of.
As a child I was forced to take Bible classes in public schools. (Also 4H.) And in a society that no longer often has physical education, art or music available in schools, this seems a poor choice.
