As far as Christianity goes, I may be about as cynical as anyone, but even I wouldn't necessarily have dumbed-down prayer into a means of turning God into Santa Clause.

(Maybe more like, "An alignment of each person's needs in a working partnership within God's plan for all creation". Or more simply, “What mankind did to indicate interests and approval before “clicks” were invented.”)
