Something that distresses me greatly (though not nearly as much as the loss of life and rights as experienced by 13.4% of Americans, innocent Black citizens) is that there seems to be an assumption that racism in whites is basically a given. It's not. Many of us were never "the enemy", and never would have been regardless of circumstances.

I don't say this so much because my feelings are hurt (though they are), but because to focus on white Americans as any sort of "universal" is a regrettable waste of resources.

While I know this will seem self-serving (and is inappropriate), I have written on this, and perhaps some of your readers would find it of interest. Please accept my apology, but if I didn't find the topic of importance, I would not have written it:
