Sir, you are talented enough to easily and effectively convey the importance of this article without the need to spell it out; allowing each reader to interpret that message personally and individually. Thank you.

This The Atlantic piece about “gay rights”(?) is apparently (as you indicate) written for a specific audience; “ …conservatives and religious forces who oppose equality.” Seemingly it’s little more than a series of conservative talking points designed to undo progress. Where has this same technique been used before? Women’s rights; reproductive and otherwise, basically every group of people of color, workers’ rights…the list is long. (“Hurrah! Another battle is won, more people we can safely ignore, and these are the talking points you can use among your right-wing Facebook friends.”)

Oh, there is one group that is still acknowledged to be struggling; white, christian men. Yes, it seems that battle goes on, and is more tragic for those countless “forgotten” millions than ever before. (Fortunately the republican “class picture” acts as a reminder of this sad group of neglected suffering, persecuted Americans.)

Thank you.
