I do realize that this piece is (largely) satire, but you really did hit the nail on the head.

Trump's whole plan was to at least attempt to convince every white American that they are purely victims, and they are in no way responsible for any of the harm they have ever personally caused to others, or that they have personally benefited from. (Slavery comes to mind...) The fault always lies with some "others", usually with dark skin.

As well, he has convinced them that all they have to do to be the best possible parents is to never let their children touch a book, or learn anything in school.

For these people, personal responsibly is less real than Bigfoot or alien butt probes. (And that is very possibly the literal truth.)

I'm no longer certain that even Jesus has freed more white Americans from sin than Trump has.
