Thank you for your thoughtful response.
As someone who personally has smoked marijuana for decades, and has been taking massive dosages of opiates for the past fifteen years at the advice of a pain physician, I do have some knowledge of the differences between physical and psychological addiction.
If it’s not too personal, could you share what physical characteristics this person exhibited? Not emotional, such as an inability to accept the world’s unpleasantness, but actual physical aspects? (Perhaps there might be medical evidence.)
I’ve studied this issue for about 45 years, and feel information is our best friend in the matter of greater understanding. While I understand addictions such as gambling and sex must be considered, I have no personal experience, and prefer to discuss that which I have personal knowledge of (but am open to further information.)
As I fight pain, I find I’m also learning much about reliance on alcohol, and (unfortunately) hope to add that knowledge to my catalog of information on addiction.
Thank you. Respectfully….
