True, but the issue must be examined in greater detail.

The following is a partial list of programs Democrats had to fight to get passed, and the fight was universally against republicans. In other words, THIS is how much Democrats care about Americans of all colors, races, genders (and preferences) and religions. It would be nice if the parties to benefit would repay the favor by the simple act of voting. Again, repubs fought against every program listed, and more:

GI Bill

Social Security

Rural mail delivery

Rural electricity

WIC

Unemployment insurance

Food stamps

Disability

Medicare

Medicaid

ACA

Civil rights act

Voting rights act
