"The ex-President is a symptom of large swaths of the population having no thinking skills. Only solid education will prevent the next Trump."

While this is undeniably true, we can't forget that the people you describe are substantially the same ones to refuse the ACA (and refuse to let their states accept it) because it was offered by an intelligent and caring Black president. Trump's game only works in a world consumed by racist beliefs. Everything else may be secondary.

Of course, these same people were not terribly educated then either.
