To some degree I can understand the “fake it till you make it” school. Certainly, the past three years have shown just how easy it could be to give up all hope entirely, and I don’t doubt that even many progressives have done just that. It’s painful to see failure on all sides, and sometimes it feels easier to just give up. I’ve been fighting since my first memory of the segregated south, and politically active since Nixon’s victory in ’68. A lifetime working for positive change, all for….this?!

And with the end of humanity fast approaching, I suspect we’ll see extreme forms of denial that are new to the species. (But that shouldn’t last for long.) How to not when the world has has had such minimal reaction to human extinction? I suspect most of the world is waiting to see how the Karsashians react.
