True, there is a “streak” in me that wants to see these monsters suffer for what they do to innocent people. Would I do those things they did?

After a lifetime fighting violence and injustice, I’ve yet to strike out in anger or violence in 61 years, even when I’ve been a victim of violence (and there have been numerous such instances.) I think maybe there are others that feel the same. To harm because I might be told to when I refused to even to protect myself? Sorta doubt it, but your point is well taken, and hard to argue against on its face.
