While it may be true that no one living in America today was a slave, (at least now we know why Funny-Face didn’t low-ball it as 100 years)it can also be stated that the profits derived from slavery are still here.
So if the reason to ignore reparations is that no one involved was (as Itch puts it), alive at that time, the profits from that time are still very much alive. And based on this rather basic syllogism, the very thing that might be both most helpful and most fair in any discussion of reparations (resources) is still very much available for a fair and reasonable distribution.
